Directions

When you arrive at the Takaka township take the first right before the petrol station on the corner, and follow the signs to Pohara. Continue to follow the road past the wharf, the bowling club and up and over the headland past the Abel Tasman memorial carpark to Ligar Bay.

300 meters to the beach. 3 minutes stroll.

3 minutes drive to Pohara Store, Pohara Motor Camp, Pohara beach, Golf course and the Penguin Cafe.

10 minutes drive to Takaka.

15 minutes drive to Abel Tasman National Park.

2 hours from Nelson.

4 hours from Picton Ferry.

6 to 8 hours from Christchurch through the Lewis pass.
