Our Bach

Our newly built bach is a modern and spacious holiday home situated in beautiful Ligar Bay. The bach is a short stroll to the beach in a very quiet street away from the busy main road.

The house has been designed for two families to holiday together with a large fully-fenced section, three bedrooms and a large open plan living area with expansive north-facing views of the bay. Have a look at all of the features we have provided for your use and enjoyment.

Ligar Bay

Ligar Bay beach is one of the most beautiful and safest classic Golden Bay beaches in the Takaka area. Golden sand, sheltered and warm clear water. Ligar Bay is not suitable for motorised water sports either, so your time here is even more peaceful. Either high or low tide provides plenty of fun for adults and kids to swim, kayak, fish, beachcomb, explore rock pools, collect shellfish and most of all - relax.

Ligar Bay is the perfect base to explore Golden Bay, while enjoying the local beach from dawn to dusk.

Just a short distance from Takaka for all your supplies, Ligar Bay is centrally located to the majority of the sights in Golden bay all within 30 minutes drive. Have a look at some of the activities you can enjoy.

Ligar Bay is in Golden Bay, which is situated in the north-west of the South Island. There is only one road accessing Golden Bay which climbs over the Takaka Hill. This isolation maintains Golden Bay as a secluded and under-exposed pristine New Zealand destination.

Surrounded by National Parks, Golden Bay is a haven for flora and fauna. From the dense native bush to the sea and shore, birdlife is abundant. Seals are also often seen basking on the rocks near Tata Islands. Have a look at the gallery for a few interesting photos we have taken.

Climate

Golden Bay enjoys high sunshine and good weather all year around. Any time of year is fantastic to visit, with summer being endlessly hot, whilst autumn, winter and spring enjoying stunningly clear sunny days ideal for off season sight-seeing and exploring.
